I t was a busy weekend. Granddad Mike''s birthday Friday night, Joe's hockey party last night and the girls Christening today. I surrendered to Alex when he said "I awake" at 6:30am and got him and Samantha cleaned up before we went downstairs. Joe had crashed on the sofa after his night of partying and Alex kindly woke him up by shaking him repeatedly saying "daddy wake up". The only one who slept in was Sarah. Grandparents Jen and Don came over early with the lovely gowns and hats Jen made for the girls. We got everyone dressed and headed to the Christening. Sarah's godparents are Glenn and Stewart, Samantha's are Jeff and Katrina (thanks to Sue who stood in). The girls were well behaved until shortly after Glenn asked me if Alex was good during his Christening too. About then, the Priest blessed Samantha's forehead and she started to cry. Joe joked "it burns, it burns!" The cerimony finished with me walking the isle trying to calm Samantha down. From the church we went to GrammaPapa (as Alex would say) Norman's to celibrate. We got lot of pictures of the day, including some pretty ones in Jen's flowergarden (Sue's brilliant idea)! Thanks to everyone for showing up, for the lovely gifts, thanks to Jose for the yummy cake, to Jen and Don for hosting the gathering, Ken for BBQing, Jen again for the amazing gowns, Kathy and Mike for making it against the odds. It is almost 9:30pm and we have one tired family. Alex won't stay in bed and Samantha is still rather crooked. Yet again, Sarah is the only one sleeping :)
