I joked with Joe's dad that he stole my thunder on Friday when he took Alex to the Agrifood and Garden Show happening at the Glacier over the weekend. In truth, Alex wasn't bothered at all about going twice! When he went with Don and Alice (big Grandma), he and Don were later on the CBC news. Apparently they interviewed Don and tried to interview Alex but he kept wanting the show the camraman around.
The show was fabulous for kids. It had a spot full of animals such as cows, chicks, a turkey, sheep, even 3 little pigs in a spot they built the houses from the Three Little Pigs nursery ryhme. They had a salt water touch tank with starfish, see squirts, see cucumbers, crab, sea urchins and more. Booths had stickers or activities like potting your own sunflower. We even got to make our own butter from creme. Alex and the girls loved it. After two hours we left for home where everyone had some dinner and Alex had a quick nap before "The Big Comfy Couch".
Joe and Sue made a date at their parent's house to eat pizza and watch silly movies in honor of Sue's birthday. It is hard to do that at our home because Sue is alergic to cats. Joe and Alex made a delicious cake (icing by Grandma Jen). We were trying to surprise her with the cake. Jen was putting icing on it when Sue showed up so she tried to hide it around a corner but Alex marched up and told Sue all about it. Funny stuff :)
This was the first time the girls ever had cake and sadly, like thier mother, they loved it. One of the pictures shows Sarah sitting on Don's lap, intently following a piece of cake he is putting into his mouth.
Alex, Sarah, Samantha and Joe went to the cabin in Horsechops with the Grandparents Jenita and Don yesterday so I could get the deck stained. They also went last weekend to check out the new deck Jen and Don built onto the cabin. In September 2006 collection there are 4 shots of last week's trip. Alex is trying to help paint in a stylin wide brimmed hat!
