Alex graduated from his class at the Little Gym this week. We were encouraged to bring along anyone who'd like to see him show all the progress he'd made and cheer while he got his ribbon. Joe, the twins, Jen and I all went. Alex was over tired and didn't get much out of it that night, but Sarah and Samantha loved it. I don't want to put any of them in a program this summer because it will add more chaos to our schedule and I'd like to spend that time out with the kids but I think in September, I may have to enroll them all!
He came home, had a nap and woke up crying asking for the doctor and pointing at where his molars are making an appearance. After some children's Advil, a peanut butter sandwich and some grapes he was a new boy. We even made a milk shake and spiked it with carnation breakfast mix to help him get some good stuff in that belly. Oh the things we do to our kids :)
I got the idea of using the bike trailer to take all 3 out for walks from Lisa. Usually if Alex gets tired he climbs in with the girls but with Jeanita there he wanted her to carry him and when those little arms go up and those big blue eyes look at you, he is hard to turn down!
Bomma Jen" grew a HUGE pumpkin for Alex which they carved last night while I looked on (and took pictures) from a bouncing ball with two babies on my lap :) They doned aprons and dug right in. Jen suggested we put a flashlight in the pumpkin instead of a candle for safety - neat idea! We turned off the lights so Alex could see it lit up and he was facinated with the kitchen being dark. I never realized it but he's never been in the kitchen with the lights off. When Papa Don and Joe returned from hockey, the had a quick cuddle with Samantha (Sarah was sleeping) and went on home.
Fall is in the air and no doubt snow is on its heals. Last winter when we had our first snowfall, Alex, Grandmother Kathy and I were in a parking lot and Alex was totally amazed. "Whats that?!" he asked while pointing at the big snowflakes as the fell. All bundled in his snow suit he had a challenge moving around last year but hopefuly he'll have more fun this one. Still catching up with some archived videos, here is one of Alex and his Grandmother Jenita sliding while Joe video tapes it in the Norman's back garden on Old Bay Bulls Road. This was around December 2005.
